MEET WALLY
Wally was found by Streator Il. Walmart employee's, literally at deaths door, near some pallets in their shipping docks. They called us and we rushed Wally to the Ottawa Veterinary Hospital, in Ottawa Il. Wally was sick, emaciated and in terrible pain from a serious injury that the Vet, Dr. Hoagland thinks he received from crawling up into a car engine. Wally was in horrific condition, maggots were literally crawling all over his injured tail, which had begun to rot and was infected. His eyes were swollen closed and filled with gunk and crusty. What got to all of us the most was that is was just so wrong that this brave kitten had no one to love him, take care of him or protect him. You see, Wally is only about 7 weeks old. Just a baby. Thanks to a lot of people who donated and Dr. Hoagland and her wonderful staff, Wally is now very much loved and taken care of at all times. He was supposed to come home today to his foster Mom, but after 3 days they discovered more maggots under his skin in his lower abdomen. They had to cut his skin to get them out so he will need more healing time. Through it all, Wally has shown such willingness to fight to survive, such love for everyone (he purrs if you simply touch him with one finger) that we just know he is going to pull through this and become an amazing Cat. If you think Wally deserves a chance and would like to donate to help him get that chance, please click on the donate button below. We are volunteer run so ALL donations goes directly to the animals we help and all are tax deductible.
